Fee Schedule

BE AND IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED by this Board of Supervisors of Rye Township, Perry County, Pennsylvania, that pursuant to the grant of powers set forth in the Second Class Township Code, the Board does hereby establish the following Schedule of Fees for the Township of Rye, Perry County, Pennsylvania, effective February 1, 2024 and each calendar year thereafter until amended by resolution. Said fee schedule is as follows:

ADMINISTRATION:

  • Mailing Fee: Actual postage plus handling fee of – $3.00
  • Photo copies, (per page) – $.25
  • Letterhead confirmation, compliance letters,(banks, etc.) – $25.00
  • Official Zoning Determination or Certification letter – $75.00
  • Certification of Ordinance & Resolutions – $5.00
  • Notary Fee (Non-residents only) – $5.00
  • Returned Check Fee – $ 25.00

SALE OF PUBLICATIONS:

  • Zoning Ordinance – $25.00
  • Zoning Map – $5.00
  • Subdivision and Land Development – $25.00
  • Miscellaneous Ordinances (per page) – $.25
  • Act 537 Plan – $40.00
  • Comprehensive Plan – $40.00

DRIVEWAY PERMITS:

  1. Temporary Use Driveway Permit – $65.00
  2. Driveway Permit or renewals – $65.00
  3. Inspection Fee or on-site consultation fee – $30.00

JUNKYARD LICENSE:

  1. Annual license including inspection – $250.00
    If 1st inspection fails, follow-up inspection – $130.00
  2. Transfer License – $130.00

SOLICITOR’S LICENSE:

(Per Ordinance 99-2)

  1. Thirty (30) days – $25.00
  2. Annual solicitor’s license – $65.00

ZONING HEARING BOARD:

  1. Applications for appeals and variances – $850.00
  2. Additional hearing beyond one night – $150.00
  3. Applications for conditional use or special exceptions – $850.00
  4. Application for Curative Amendment – $1,000.00
    In addition to the foregoing fees involving the Zoning Hearing Board, and as permitted by the PA Municipal Planning Code, the MPC, the Township will charge any actual expense incurred by the Township that exceeds these fees.

DEMOLITION PERMITS:

(per Demolition Ordinance 04-02)

  1. Structures up to 250 square feet – $45.00
  2. Structures up to 500 square feet – $55.00
  3. Structures over 500 square feet – $75.00

ZONING PERMITS:

(Per Zoning Ordinance 03-01 or as amended)

  1. Structures up to 145 square feet – $80.00
  2. Structures up to 250 square feet – $115.00
  3. Structures from 250 sq feet to up to 500 square feet – $135.00
  4. Structures from 500 sq feet up to 1000 square feet – $150.00
  5. Structures 1000 square feet and over – $195.00
  6. In-home business -$150.00
  7. Cell Tower zoning inspection & permit – $225.00
  8. Underground tanks – $135.00
  9. Certificate of Use (Required for new homes, mobile homes, additions, garages etc.) – $115.00
  10. Backyard Chickens Permit – $85.00
  11. Temporary Certificate of Use – $75.00
  12. Temporary Use Permit (issued by the Supervisors) – $75.00
  13. Permit Renewal – $75.00
  14. Zoning Officer On-site Inspections and on-site consultations – $115.00

When the cost charged to the Township by the Zoning Officer for review exceeds the average review time alloted, see table below, and additional costs are incurred, which exceed the amount of the initial fee paid for the permit, the applicant will be charged and billed accordingly for the additional fees. No permit will be issued until all fees are paid in full.

SIGN PERMITS:

  1. Permanent Advertising sign (12 square feet & under) – $65.00
  2. Permanent Advertising sign (Over 12 square feet) – $85.00

CELL TOWER PERMITS:

  1. New Cellular, radio, communication towers
    ($15.00 per$1,000 estimated value; minimum$150.00)
    Plus cost of zoning permit listed above
  2. Co-location antennas on existing towers – $325.00
    Plus the cost for permits of any structures, such as equipment, storage sheds

FEE IN LIEU OF DEDICATION

(Per Subdivision Land Development Ordinance 90-1 or as amended)

  1. Per proposed dwelling unit – $1,800.00

UTILITY PERMIT:

  1. To open or cut Township roads or shoulders – $70.00
  2. Inspection – $25.00
